Caffeine Can Help Avoid Dehydration? Whitet10
So far, several studies have shown that caffeine-based beverages can lead to dehydration in the body. However, recent research shows the opposite, as reported in the Huffington Post .
Researchers from La Trobe University, Victoria, Australia, said that although the body needs two liters of fluid a day, does not indicate we have to drink the water as the guideline of 8 glasses a day.
According to the journal, in fact anyone can get adequate fluid intake to maintain body fluid only through food and beverages consumed, even though from caffeinated drinks like coffee and tea.
"To prevent dehydration not only by water, beverages such as tea and coffee can also contribute to a person's fluid, although caffeinated drinks does not lead to dehydration," says Dr. Spero Tsindos.
Even the liquid was on lettuce can also contribute about 97 percent of water in the body. If you eat 100 g lettuce, equal to the consumption of 97 g of liquid.
"Drinking water with high volume has been shown to suppress appetite, but eating foods with high water content like watermelon, lettuce or grapefruit give the greater weight loss than simply avoiding the consumption of more food and plenty of water," continued Spero .
